Parental Portal provides access to the following:

* Student grades, test scores, assignments, and attendance through a secure web site
* Curriculum information including lesson plans, unit plans and pacing guides
* Class, school or district announcements
* Printed copies of assignments, report cards or other student information
* Automated email alerts that notify parents when information is updated

Public Portal provides access to the following:

* News and information for district, school and course
* Web links to other pertinent sites both inside and outside the district web site
* Uploaded documents, presentations, and other communication items
* Easily create and organize original web content
* Curriculum information including lesson plans, unit plans and pacing guides
* Link to district, state and national standardized test performance
* District policies (conduct, dress, weather closing, emergency procedures, etc.)

Hallways is a web-based communication portal that enables real-time communication between school systems and the communities they serve. Administrators, principals and teachers can publish a variety of information to two separate, user-friendly access points; a secure Parent Portal or an open access Public Portal.

To access the Parent Portal, a parent will self-enroll in the portal by creating a user name and password. Parents will provide an email address, and Hallways will verify the email address and enroll the parent for automated notifications. The school system will provide each parent with a Hallways- generated “secret code” for each of his or her students. Once the parent enters his or her student’s code, Hallways will provide them with access to that student’s schedule and any pertinent information associated with the district, school and enrolled courses.

The Public Portal is an open access site that allows the school system to easily manage, organize and share information. Hallways can be used to develop the school’s web site or simply be used as a link from the existing web site. The Hallways-generated Public Portal does not require a user name and password. All information that is presented through the public interface is generic in nature. The Public Portal allows school systems to organize data and present it to the public in an easy-to-navigate format.
